In 1995, Shigeru Kawai modernised production by blending craftsmanship with technology—leading to the Ryuyo Grand Piano Facility, home of Kawai's world-renowned pianos.

From a small workshop in Hamamatsu, Koichi's dedication led to rapid growth and national recognition—including Japan's Blue Ribbon Medal of Honor for his contributions to music craftsmanship.

Koichi Kawai, a wagon maker's son, built his first piano and led Japan's first piano R&D team, earning patents for his groundbreaking designs. His journey had only just begun.

Michael Veerapen is a prominent figure in Malaysia’s jazz scene. He co-founded the Malaysian Jazz Piano Festival and has directed major events such as the 2017 SEA Games opening ceremony. Veerapen has also composed acclaimed musicals like Lat Kampung Boy, earning a BOH Cameronian Award. His decades-long contribution continues to inspire and elevate Malaysian music.
