Kawai Malaysia Hosts Exclusive Piano Technician Seminar Featuring Kawai Japan’s Master Piano Artisan

Kawai Malaysia recently hosted a Piano Technician Seminar on 23 May 2025 at Deciso Fine Violins, Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together piano technicians from across Malaysia—including several from East Malaysia—for a rare opportunity to deepen their expertise under the guidance of a world-renowned piano expert.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Takanori Otake, a Master Piano Artisan (MPA) from Kawai Japan, who conducted a comprehensive training session focusing on Kawai grand piano technology, including service, tuning techniques, manufacturing processes, and the intricate mechanics behind Kawai’s renowned piano action.

The seminar served as a platform for hands-on learning, technical demonstrations, and open discussion. Mr. Otake’s in-depth knowledge and passion for craftsmanship left a deep impression on all participants. Whether a technician with over 20 years of experience or a younger professional in the early stages of their career, attendees expressed appreciation for the valuable insights gained and the rare opportunity to directly learn from a master.
